The 2021 AGENT–Forum (short for: Analyysin ja Geometrian Nuorten Tutkijoiden Foorumi) was be held on Wednesday October 27th – Friday October 29th 2021. It gave young researches in Analysis and Geometry in Finland a long awaited opportunity to connect through networking, discussion and a bit of fun.
During the forum, we held a panel discussion on Mathematicians in the industry, and beyond. The panelists were Esko Heinonen, Rami Luisto, Riikka Schroderus and Samuli Siltanen. The panel discussion was recorded: Video is here. Feel free to share the panel discussion anywhere. It was recorded by the organizers, and edited by Sylvester Eriksson-Bique.
Below, you will find some pictures from the panel and our group photo. Tuomas Orponen was the photographer, and owner of copyright.
The event was delivered in person, with live talks. We are truly excited of this possibility, and thank Matematiikan Rahasto-Foundation for generously supporting the event. The event gave a spot-light for young researchers, and all who were interested were invited to join. The topic was Analysis and Geometry, but we construed these broadly and invite d anyone who feels their work might be related to join or contribute.
Below you will find the list of confirmed speakers. Participation will be open to anyone interested, and instructions for registration will appear later on this website. We especially invite doctoral students and undergraduate students interested in research to attend.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact any of the organizers for example at agentf2021 'at' list.aalto.fi. See also the Directions tab above for logistical information and advice for lunch etc.
Addititionally, we will have a panel discussion on the professional opportunities of a math Ph.D. We are very excited to confirm the following panelists. They will bring a variety of perspectives from different industries and experiences.
The main organizers for the event are: Sylvester Eriksson-Bique, Riikka Korte, Tuomo Kuusi, Tuomas Orponen and Ville Suomala.
