Data collection in mobile networks with low-power devices: a performance evaluation Mario Di Francesco (Aalto University) Abstract: This talk will introduce data collection in mobile wireless networks with low-power devices, i.e., sparse wireless sensor networks. In such scenarios, data collection involves two major phases: the discovery of the mobile element and the subsequent data transfer. To this end, we will introduce a probabilistic model which is suitable to evaluate the communication performance jointly resulting from discovery and data transfer. Our model is flexible enough to support different protocols and we will focus on a practical solution for wireless sensor network applications. We will conclude the talk by introducing mobility-assisted device discovery. Aalto Stochastics & Statistics Seminar Mon 1 Dec 2014, 16:15 Lecture Hall M2, Otakaari 1, Espoo
