Scaling limits of correlations in the critical planar Ising model Konstantin Izyurov (University of Helsinki) Abstract: The Ising model of ferromagnetism is one of the simplest and well-studdied models of phase transition in statistical mechanics. Since 80-s, it has been understood by physicists that its scaling limit at criticality is conformally invariant, moreover, detailed properties of this limit were predicted. The 2006 work of S. Smirnov allowed to prove some of these conjectures by rigorously computing scaling limits of certain correlations. We will review some of those results, in particular, our recent joint work with D. Chelkak and C. Hongler on spin correlations. Aalto Stochastics & Statistics Seminar Mon 3 Nov 2014, 16:15 Lecture Hall M2, Otakaari 1, Espoo
