On quadrilateral least-squares and DPG finite element methods

Least-squares finite element methods for first-order formulations of the Poisson equation suffer from degradation of convergence order on quadrilateral meshes as compared to rectangular meshes for some standard finite element approximations of H(div). We show how the primal DPG formulation can be used to recover the order.
